Hello my beautiful family!
I know I mentioned that fall is coming, but the trees are starting to hint at it and the air is so crisp, I'm kind of really excited about it. :)
William was baptized this week! And it all went smoothly. We had lots of support from the ward and they're all pretty excited to get to know him.
We also had interviews with President Packard. I went in wanting to ask him for some advice, but as I asked him, I felt like the answers came to mind. I guess that's one way revelation comes. I think I mostly just needed to feel the Spirit and feel some encouragement and love (which was everything I felt at the interview and President didn't really say anything!) because I'm feeling a little uncertain what to do now that we've baptized our teaching pool. Investing in members and finding new people to teach through them is a new frontier for me and I'm feeling a little uncertain and scared, but I felt everything I needed to at interviews and training this week. :)
If I were smart or good at multi-tasking, I would have been building my teaching pool through the members this whole time... Hindsight is 20/20, no?
Discoveries I shared with President: 1. The worst days as a missionary are the days where you're focused on yourself. 2. The less you focus on the mechanics of sharing the gospel and just absorb yourself in listening to your people and their needs, the more naturally it all comes.
Oh the paradoxes of the gospel! :)
As nervous as I am to start working more with members (I think I'm nervous about looking like a fool...) I LOVE MY WARD! Our bishopric is amazing. There are ridiculously talented people here. And a lot of them are very willing to do missionary work... so really, I don't know what I'm scared about. Sister Hyoung says I worry too much. Thank you Mary Jane and Sue. :)
I felt the Spirit very strongly at ward council yesterday morning. It is amazing to see how much love our leaders have for the members of the ward and how the structure of the church is perfect. It is perfectly tailored to minister to the needs of the individual. It is truly the Lord's restored church!
I love hearing how you're all doing! LOVE IT. Congrats to Staci and Caleb this weekend! So excited for you two! Have so much fun at the wedding, fam!
Love you all! Have a beautiful week!
Sister Wheeler
