Week 30: Just read 3 Ne. 18:32... :)

December 16, 2013

Fam!!!

I have less than 10 minutes to bust out this email before the library shuts down for the night. It has been a pretty successful p-day because our new friend Julie Dexter offered to drive us around to buy boots and other things we've been needing and we were also able to ship out some Christmas packages (30 minutes at the post office #internationalshipping #customs).

I will dedicate most of this email to Julie. Her story is so beautiful! We met with her to get to know her on Wednesday and it turns out she has been inactive for the last 20 years of her life. About a year ago, her sister was making coffee one Sunday morning and couldn't find anything to watch on TV except Conference, so she finally gave in and just watched it as she sipped her coffee. And as she did, something changed. She started going back to church and eventually decided to go on a mission! SO COOL! Julie went out to Utah to help her prepare this fall and in the month that she helped her sister Trisha get ready, she also experienced a change of heart and is SO committed to coming back. (She also read the book "Visions of Glory" - has anyone read it? I'm usually kind of skeptical about these kind of millennial-prediction/prophecy things, but it totally impacted Julie.) It was amazing to hear her story. We were all in tears. I have not felt the Spirit that strongly on my mission very often. I could feel the Spirit witnessing how much Heavenly Father loves her and how happy He is that she is back and committed to staying in the gospel. It was a huge testimony-builder for me of 3 Ne. 18:32. The Lord never gives up on us! And He is just as happy when someone comes back to the gospel as He is when they first join. We're so excited to start "practice" teaching the lessons on her this week!

AH! Sorry it's such a short email. I will tell you more about her when we Skype! SO STINKING EXCITED!!!!

I love you all so much! The gospel is true and our Heavenly Father and Savior love us more than we can ever understand!

LOVE YOU ALL!
Sister Wheeler Jr.

P.S. We're having an all-day Christmas party tomorrow as a mission and we're going to the temple. SO EXCITED!
