Family!
First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DAD AND NAT!!! I'm sorry I spaced mentioning it last week in my frantic email, Nat! I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH!
I am so stoked to talk to you in a couple of days. This email might be kind of short because of that, but let's see:
Events of the last week (or so):
-Our favorite crazy man who lives across the street and has his yard decked out in Christmas decorations, died this week. SO SAD! They haven't turned on the Christmas lights since. SO DEPRESSING!
-It snowed for the first time a couple of weeks ago and then on Tuesday night after we went to the temple and had a mission Christmas party, we got snowed in in Boston. So we slept over at the Belmont Sisters' and drove back in the morning. The snow has all melted since then and it's been like 50 degrees, but hopefully we'll get some snow for Christmas! (P.S. I was glued to Sister Hyoung's hip at the party- it was SO fun to see her again!!!)
-Sister Bud and I had a great companionship inventory where we realized that we are completely opposite where our strengths are concerned and it's exactly what we both need help on. She said she has a hard time being exactly obedient although she wants to and she doesn't like pondering/planning too hard when we make our lesson plans. I, on the other hand, over-think everything, especially lesson plans. And, I don't share the load because I want everything to be done perfectly and I don't want others to be mad at me for not doing enough (ie, I map out where we're going, try to think of the perfect lesson plan, etc). So, Sister Bud is teaching me to chill out and stop stressing about everything being perfect and to share the load and I'm teaching her how to be more obedient. We were pretty excited about the realization and it helped us come a lot closer.
-Had a great correlation with our 2 sets of Elders and realized just how much work there is to do in this area. We've been trying to figure it all out on our own (probably my fault- I always err on the side of not bugging people). This area is the best! BRIMMING with growth potential!
-We had another appt with Jarred Jones, the Theology major at Brown, which we weren't expecting because his first meeting seemed to come from academic interest, but he's going to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it over the break and I KNOW he's going to feel it's true!!! I can't wait for it to change his life!!!
Okay, gotta run! I LOVE YOU ALL!!! This gospel is true and it has been restored! Christ is the Head of our church and He lives and loves us! He has made it possible for us to all be healed and to make it back home! What a beautiful time of year where we can focus on His birth. I LOVE being able to share this message with others!
Love,
Sister Wheeler Jr.
P.S. The APs just called and are giving us a car for this WEEK!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO US!!!
P.P.S. Did I mention that both Ran and Dusya got baptized on the 8th?!? SO EXCITING!!!
