My family!
How are you all?! I loved reading your emails. I'm dying that Lindy solved the Rubik's Cube. Attagirl. :) And Josh- NASTY!!! I KNEW THE MICE WOULD TAKE OVER THE SECOND WE LEFT! PLEASE PROTECT THE HOUSE!!!
It's been a great week here in Boston! We're still working on building our finding/teaching pool. Sister Hyoung and I have been meeting with members left and right (and I LOVE THEM ALL! Seriously, if I get transferred, I'll cry. They feel like my family) and trying to see where they're at with their missionary work. We maybe graded them this week during weekly planning based on who are our rockstar member missionaries. Luckily, there is a nice handful of A+ members (granted I'm a little too nice, but still). Now we're just figuring out "what's next". Finding through the members is much slower, but we feel like it will be much more effective. The Elders in our ward seem to think otherwise, but we're actually hoping to combine forces with them this week and start sharing the same finding and teaching pool. No more of this splitting the ward business. We're talking about consecration and ZION here, people! We're pretty excited about it and feel like it will boost how effective we are in the ward and area. They are awesome. One of them, Elder Garret Sutherland, was BFFs with TJ Young and he says he knows Jord. He's great, but I might be biased since he's from Idaho.
Sister Hyoung is so fun! She has been making me much braver at talking to people on the bus and it's so refreshing to just push out the fear/doubt and uplift everyone I can while I'm out and about. I was kind of beating myself up about being such a wuss about street contacting and about other things I'm not feeling like I'm good at, and then we met with some members and the husband made a comment about people on his mission who were like that and it killed their work ethic and I was like, "WHOA. Is he speaking to me?! That's it. Snap out of it, Sister Wheeler." Really though, Satan has been working on me by getting me to beat myself up. It's so not healthy. It makes it harder to feel the Spirit when I'm not giving myself enough credit and it HAS been killing my work ethic. So, I'm snapping out of it! :)
Speaking of Sister Hyoung and her rockstar street contacting techniques, we sat down next to a Chinese student named Ran the other night and we ended up teaching him the Restoration and inviting him to Institute because he said he's really missing his roommates from last year. He ended up coming and LOVED the fellowshipping. We passed him off to the Elders in the single's ward, but it just boosted my testimony of how simple missionary work is. And how beautiful is it that we can sit down next to someone at the bus stop and share the truths of eternity with them? It's kind of really amazing. We can all change someone's life with a simple invitation.
The Relief Society Broadcast was AWESOME! It was like a spiritual punch in the face. I loved it. :) It has made me ridiculously excited for Conference. It's like Christmas right now. :)
And the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum was rockstar. My head hurt from such a visual overload, but it was so fun. We're headed to the Aquarium today- free tickets from the library. :)
Okay, I love you all! Have a beautiful week!
Sister Wheeler
