FAM!
Thank you for the birthday wishes and packages! It was a perfect birthday. :) I think Sister Budvarson was more excited than I was- she loves an excuse to party. :) She made sure to decorate the apartment and was super excited for me to open my packages. Also, the 4 Elders in our Branch came over at 6:45 am with a cake they made for me and they sang "Happy Birthday" to me on the doorstep while I blew out my candles. I maybe still had morning breath and was in workout clothes, but I felt pretty special. :) So thanks to everyone for making it perfect!
We had interviews with President on Friday and for some reason I always feel prepared for the interview, but then walk out feeling like I was totally unprepared. He never really asks us questions- he just lets us ask him questions. And then I ask the question and he gives me a really thought-provoking question in response to my question and then I've got nothing to respond to. He did mention that Sister Bud and the car will probably be gone at the end of the transfer. I'll be okay being on the buses again- I kind of miss street contacting (never in a million years did I guess I would ever say that) and I've got the system down. President did also leave me with a great bit of homework. He had me read Alma 7:17 and asked what it would take for me to know if the people I'm teaching feel the same way. I'll be pondering on that a lot this week!
I, like Nat and Victor, was also asked to give a talk on Sunday. I didn't not feel very prepared (I'm really good at studying but really terrible at organizing my thoughts), but thankfully the Lord made up for my shortcomings and I was able to give a decent talk that lasted much longer than 7 minutes (hehe! Sorry about that Jord.) :) I spoke about prayer and revelation and it was such a good reminder for me. The Bible dictionary's definition of prayer was so great to review! I need to improve the quality of my prayers and I need to be better at listening to and following the Spirit. As usually happens with talks, I felt like it was more for me than for anyone else. :)
Sherri and Chantel both came to my talk, so that made me happy! But then they rushed off afterwards to go buy diapers because they were on sale. #haventtalkedaboutsabbathdayyet :) We set a baptismal date of March 16th as a goal with Sherri, but we're worried we're losing her. Please pray that we will be able to discern her needs this week so we will best know how to help her.
Sorry this email is short! We're all trying to email at the same Family History Center and it's crazy. But know that I love you all and that I love this gospel. Being a missionary is the best and I am so grateful for the growth I am experiencing. This is exactly what I needed and I feel so humbled by the blessings I am receiving- I will never stop owing the Lord. And that makes me want to work so much harder.
I love you all!
Love,
Sister Wheeler
P.S. We caught another mouse last night. The snap woke Sister Bud up and she thought I was yelling at her in my sleep. #ithappens :) They are so nasty!!!
