FAMILY!
It's been a lovely week. But we are short on time, so I will do my best to recap efficiently and humorously. :)
Highlights:
Did I tell you about the Muslim guy we had a first lesson with a month or so ago? His name is Sabah, and he's so nice and gentle and humble. We loved teaching him, but he didn't seem too interested. He said he'd read the Book of Mormon "when he had time". We ordered him a copy in Arabic anyway and when we went to take it to him, there was a light in his face that wasn't there before!!! He's read a couple pages and already told a friend about it. We're just trying to schedule a time (Satan's biggest tool here in Cambridge is seriously busyness- drives me crazy!!!) but we are SO excited and feel good about it! We were walking away and trying not to freak out and do a victory dance. I LOVE watching the gospel light up people's lives!!!
Another highlight: we received a member referral from a member of the single's ward, Greg. His friend, Sarah, is married and went to his ward with him once, then to Stake Conference and she loved both. She told him she'd love to meet with us, so we're just waiting to hear back from her! We're pretty excited about that.
And a less spiritual highlight/funny story: we were walking up Brighton Center and this pantless (her coat was to her mid-thighs and her legs were bare- I'm assuming she was pantless) Russian lady grabbed Sister Hyoung's arm and demanded we help her cross the street. HYS.TER.ICAL. I was trying not to laugh the whole time. These name tags are seriously crazy-magnets.
We find out about transfers on the 16th and p-day is the 21st, so next Wednesday you'll know my fate! I'm pretty sure I'm leaving, I can just feel it, and I really don't want to!!! But, I think Sister Hyoung is ready to train. She actually had a dream that I left and that her new companion was named Sister Sanchez. We don't have a Sister Sanchez in the mission... YET! I totally think it's a sign she'll get a greenie! :)
Requests: Nat, can you mail me a CD of Celine Dion's Christmas album minus the romantic songs? I just need some Ave Maria in my life. :)
Alright, must run. I love you all so dearly and am so grateful for this chance to share the gospel with others. It is SUCH a privilege. Our Heavenly Father loves us and has a perfect plan for us and it makes me so happy! Our Savior lives. This is his restored gospel and it is such a blessing to have it in our lives so that we understand how to have peace in this life and how to make it back to our Heavenly Father. I'm so grateful to be able to share that knowledge with the wonderful people of Boston. :)
Love!
Sister Wheeler Jr.
